March 2011
Meet My New Broadcast Partner!
The 2011 season is just weeks away and that means that we have a new batch of seasonal employees here at the ballpark. Every department seems to need more hands on deck and the Media Department is no different.
Hello RoughRiders fans! My name is Brian Boesch, and I am the
new Broadcast Assistant here in Frisco. Currently a senior at Ohio University
in Athens, I
have been in baseball broadcasting since 2008. I spent last year as the play-by-play voice
of the Burlington Royals, the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City
Royals. Before that, I spent three spring seasons with Ohio University
baseball and two summers with the Southern Ohio Copperheads of the Great Lakes
Summer Collegiate League.
In addition to my baseball experience, I was a sports
personality for the Ohio Sports Network from IMG
College and the Sports Director at
WATH/WXTQ Radio in Athens.
After being in the great state of Texas
for a week, I can assure you that it is nothing like Ohio. I am excited to get to know an area
that is mostly foreign to me. The only place in Frisco I know well at this
point is Dr Pepper Ballpark, and it is the most impressive minor league stadium
I have ever seen. I can’t wait until Opening Day to experience the atmosphere
of a RoughRiders game.
Aaron has already gotten this blog off to a
great start, and I am looking forward to contributing. During my time in
college and minor league baseball, I have tried to get team information out in as
many forms of media as possible. So, you can expect plenty of updates from
Aaron, Reid, and me on the blog,
the web site, and our social media platforms.
Throughout the season, I would love to get your feedback on
any of the content on the web site or during the broadcasts. Please e-mail any
questions, suggestions, praises or criticisms to bboesch@ridersbaseball.com. Opening Day is 15 days away! I hope you are as ready as I am! Talk to you soon.
Brian
