O’Day Tosses One Inning with Frisco
Right-hander Darren O’Day worked the first inning for the RoughRiders Monday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark against the Midland RockHounds.
O’Day allowed only one hit, but it was a solo home run off the bat of Grant Green, Oakland’s top prospect. Other than the homer, O’Day retired the side on a groundout, flyout and strikeout. He threw 15 pitches, eight of which were strikes.
O’Day is currently on the 60-day disabled list. He has not pitched since April 28 because of a torn labrum.
Frisco left-hander Robbie Erlin, the Rangers’ number four-prospect according to Baseball America, is scheduled to pitch behind O’Day.
O’Day is the eighth Ranger to rehab with the ‘Riders this season.
