In his second game as a RoughRider, left-hander Andrew Faulkner racked up eight strikeouts over six innings and notched his first win at the Double-A level. The native of Aiken, South Carolina allowed one run on four hits and never faced more than four in a single frame. Click here to read the game recap.
Star of the Game: C J.T. Wise – 3/3, R, HR, RBI, BB
J.T. belted his fourth home run as a ‘Rider and now sits in sole possession of fourth on the team’s active home run list. Twenty games into his summer in Frisco, Wise continues to stay hot at the plate. Ten of his 23 hits have gone for extra bases and he has 18 RBI.
In case you missed it:
-Keone Kela picked up his second save in as many nights on Saturday and touched 99 mph on the Wolff Stadium radar gun on a strikeout of Hunter Renfroe. A strikeout of Jason Hagerty touched 98.
-Both teams combined for 22 strikeouts (Frisco struck out 10 times and San Antonio went down on 22 occasions)
-Frisco’s staff has allowed two runs over the last 20 innings against the Missions.
-Trever Adams extended his hitting streak to a season-high ten games with a single in the seventh inning. The righty batted 1-for-4 with a run, a walk and a strikeout.
-Gallo watch: 1/4, SO
Joey sent one to deep left field in the fifth and Wolff Stadium barely held it as Yeison Asencio retired the slugger at the warning track.
